As I found out, my SQL server has disabled Named Pipes, but enabled TCP/IP (and it will stay this way). Now I am trying to connect from the visual studio to the database, but with no luck.
Instead of using the silly wizard, right-click the network connection and see its properties. Make sure you have the TCP/IP protocol installed and enabled. See that the IP onfiguration is correct. This connection was working great but now we want to open more ports. We need to open multiple tcp client ports on the same IP Address as the first connection but at different ports. so we do this by sending tcpc command and it opens correctly. The command I send to is. Go in the command mode ($$$) set tcp.client.retries 10; tcpc 1.1.1.2 101

Sep 28, 2008 · Ok! To enable TCP/IP go to Connexions and locate your wireless card.Right click on it and choose Properties. On the general tab scroll down to see if TCP/IP is checked or not. If not check it to enable it. If you do not see TCP/IP u can install it using install button.
